DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF MULTIBLADE WOOD CUTTING MACHINE
Abstract
The aim of this project is to reduce the wood cutting time. In the design and analysis of single blade wood cutter we can feed the work piece on the feeder to cut single piece of wood into two. It will take long time for each operation. To reduce the operating time and to increase the productivity we are going to esign and analysis the multi blade wood cutter instead of single blade wood cutter.
In the design and analysis of multi blade wood cutter is to cut the large pieces of wood into small pieces (six). As per the required dimensions to set the five blade in sequential order and equidistance .keyway is placed in the shaft for fixing a blade.
The bladed shaft is engaged in the motor at one side, and the other side of the shaft is to connect the small size pulley. Small size pulley of the shaft in the motor would be combined with large size pulley in the gear box with the support of v-belt and the other side of the gearbox would be connected to the shaft with round cup (appu) to transmit the power to the driving pulley with the help of a flat belt.
Transmitted power in the shaft is used to rotate the butterfly in opposite direction of the blade, which is then used to hold the work piece (wood) to merge with the cutting blade to cut into seven pieces at a time. Due to the analysis of cutting a work pieces stress is developed in the butterfly wings and work piece for time of cutting. At the time of adjusting the speed of the shaft in the motor, stress is developed at
varying range.
