PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT OF A STIR CASTING FOR REINFORCED METAL MATRIX COMPOSITES
Abstract
A Piston is a cylindrical engine component that slides back and forth in the cylinder bore by forces produced in the combustion process. Usually the pistons are made of aluminium alloy for lightweight thermal conductivity. The highest temperature of any point in piston must not exceed more than 66% of the melting point temperature of the aluminium alloy. Therefore the limit temperature for the current alloy is of
640K. So they are not suitable for high temperature applications. The standardized forms of ball or roller bearings permit rotary motion between two machine elements and always include a complement of ball or rollers that maintain the shaft and a usually stationary supporting structure, frequently called housing, in a radially or axially spaced-apart relationship. Bearing supports another moving machine element and load
carrying capacity through analytical method was calculated.
