This paper proposes a method for secure sharing of images using an efficient algorithm that finds applications in confidential transmission, video surveillance, medical and military. Visual cryptography encrypts the secret image into the cover image. In the encryption process the secret image and the cover images are converted into halftone images. Floyd error diffusion algorithm is the efficient method for generating the
halftone images. Visual Information Pixel (VIP) synchronization encrypt the secret halftone image into cover halftoneimages.VIP synchronization retains the positions of pixels carrying visual information of original images. It produces shares with high visual quality. In the decryption process the secret image can be visually revealed by superimposing the encrypted shares together. The retrieved secret image has high visual quality.
