ARDUINO BASED DIGITAL WEIGHING AND ALERT SYSTEM FOR LPG GAS USING GSM

Abstract

Now a day it is difficult to find a home without gas stoves. The government of India provides gas cylinder to each family based on their ration card. There are two categories in distributing the gas cylinders. Certain families receive two gas cylinders and some families receive only one cylinder once in 60 days. It is difficult to find when the gas cylinder will be completely emptied. In order to overcome this problem, our proposed system measures the weight of the cylinder at regular intervals and identifies the average daily use of the gas cylinder which is compared with the amount of gas left in the gas cylinder to calculate the number of days for which the cylinder will be in supply. Our proposed system also includes an intimation facility through which the user will be informed about current status of the gas cylinder and the number of days left for the gas cylinder to become empty so that the user may book for the next gas cylinder in advance through a GSM module that is interfaced with the arduino by which inconvenience for the user is neglected. The gas cylinder measurement is done using the load cell with the HX711 driver circuit whose output is given to the arduino with which the whole system works. The number of days for which the gas cylinder operates is displayed through LCD. Once the number of days left for the gas cylinder to become empty goes below the critical level, the user will be alerted by a call from the GSM module at regular interval until the user presses the reset button.
