AUTOMATIC PLANT GROWTH MONITORING SYSTEM USING PIC MICROCONTROLLER
Abstract
Agriculture is the backbone of Indian economy. Agriculture uses 85% of available freshwater resources worldwide, and this percentage will continue to be predominant in water consumption because of population growth and increased food demand. The main objective of our project is to work we are going to check temperature, humidity, soil moisture and plant growth monitoring. The project here is all about automated control features with latest electronic technology using microcontroller and GSM phone line.An efficient irrigation algorithm is proposed to check soil dry/wet condition to regulate motor ON/OFF operation. Thus GSM technology is used to inform the farmer about the exact field condition. The project works automatically and hence reduces the man power. The entire system is controlled using PIC microcontroller which is programmed as giving the interrupt signal to the sprinkler. In proposed system, when a plant growth reaches a defined threshold value a message will be displayed in the LCD, and a SMS will be sent to the user’s mobile phone via GSM module.
