IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF VARIOUS FILTERING CONCEPTS AND NOISE REMOVAL TECHNIQUES FOR DE-NOISING AN IMAGE
Abstract
In image processing quality of an image is more important. Whatever may the domain,
type of noise should be identified and removed before on starts analysis. Most of the images are affected by various noises like gaussian, salt & pepper, speckle, anisotropic and quantization. Image noise is a random variation of brightness/color information in images. The unwanted fluctuations are became “noise”.
An attempt is made to develop and carry out the performance evaluation of the different Image Denoising Techniques on the images. This paper discusses the improvement of the recent image denoising techniques from the traditional techniques. Matlab based implementation is carried out and the results are tabulated for different noise conditions. The performance parameters MSE and PSNR, are used for comparison of the test image applied with different noises, Salt and Pepper, Gaussian and Speckle noise. This paper can be considered as the tradeoff analysis of the different filtering techniques on the different noises
