A STUDY ON PROCESS OF GETTING ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE
Abstract
Our country India is a developing country. In a developing country, the rate of growth in the infrastructure and industrial sectors are rapid when compared to other developed countries. Due to this rapid growth, the environment also gets polluted rapidly. So Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) – India, has framed norms and monitors the upcoming development in all sectors. In this way the Environmental Clearance (EC) is very essential to initiate a project. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is the important evaluation for EC process. It specifies that the project has mitigated impacts to the environment. There are certain restrictions and prohibition on new project or activities, or on the expansion or modernization of existing projects based on their potential environmental impacts. In any part of India, prior Environmental Clearance has been accorded in accordance with the objectives of National Environment Policy as approved by The Union Cabinet. In this journal, we are going to study the process involved in Environmental Clearance.
