STUDY ON CHARACTERISTICS OF PERVIOUS CONCRETE FOR PAVEMENT

Abstract

Permeable pavement is a key component in reproducing pre-development hydrologic regimes, because it can reduce surface runoff, improve water quality and recharge groundwater. In designing a permeable pavement installation, it is fundamentally important to provide and maintain. A surface infiltration and a storage capacity that allow an adequate volume of storm water. We are making a pervious concrete pavement block mainly to increase the ground water level. The strength of the pervious concrete block is increased by using ordinary Portland cement of grade 53.So that pavement block strength is increased. Laying the pavement pervious is very important hence it increases the ground water level. It is very essential because the ground water level decreases year by year. Hence it is very essential to make pavement as pervious concrete block. Red soil is used as the sub grade of the pavement because the soil is porous, cohesive less and available in large amount in our country.
