The project “AN ANDROID APPLICATION FOR PRIVATE VOTING SYSTEM” is designed using Standard Android 4.0.3 platform. The platform used to develop the application is Eclipse IDE (Mars) with Java 1.6 Standard Edition.Traditional voting systems should be computerized to reduce the vote counting time, to provide evidence that a vote is being correctly accounted, to reduce fraud, remove errors in filling out ballots, to improve system usability for people with special needs. This project helps to maintain the details of the Candidates, Voters details, Votes and zone details in full fledged security. Unauthorized persons cannot access the data.This application provides is a new technique of casting votes using mobile phones. Android voting system is an application developed for android devices to deploy an easy and flexible way of casting votes anytime and from anywhere. In admin login, the admin view the party vote count and result. The user can register their vote by sending an SMS by providing party name and vote.A voter can only post one vote for a candidate. Each and every vote casted is stored in the database for the respective candidate. At the end of the voting process the system counts the total votes and generates a report of it to the admin.Thus the app helps to get proper voting system. Due to this redundancy the data can be easily modified by unauthorized users which can be stored in the database. This leads to loss of data privacy and security to database. Extensive security and performance analysis shows that the proposed scheme ensures data reliability.
