EVALUATION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF SISAL FIBRE REINFORCED WITH ARALDITE MATRIX
Abstract
This paper is about Evaluation Of Mechanical properties of sisal fiber reinforced araldite matrix Composites. The goal of this paper is to determine the mechanical properties of a proposed combined araldite composite which consist of a araldite matrix and sisal fibres with reference to ASTM the resin and fibre composition of matrix in 40% and 60% and the second test followed by 60% fibre and 40% resin.The influence of fibres volume fractionon the mechanical properties was also evaluated. The hardener and resin are in 1:1 ratio. Composites with volumetric amounts of sisal fibre were fabricated and they were arranged in randomly oriented discontinues form. Tensile Test,flexure test, impact test,moisture test were was carried out to determine the strength of material. Today these fibres are considered as environment friendly materials according to their biodegradability and renewable characteristics.
