Abstract

ement is the second most consumed product in the world. It contributes nearly 7% of the global carbon dioxide emission. Efforts are underway throughout the world for the development of eco-friendly construction materials, which will minimize the utility of fast deteriorating natural resources and also to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. In this regard, Geopolymer concrete (GPC) is becoming a special type of eco-friendlier concrete alternative to Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) concrete. Inclusion of Class-F fly-ash can have a significant effect on the setting and strength development of geopolymer binders when cured in elevated temperatures. This paper evaluates the strength properties of fly ash based geopolymer concrete.
