MECHANICAL TESTING OF E-GLASS FIBER WITH EPOXY RESIN REINFORCED MATRIX

Abstract

The present research work is dedicated about the mechanical behavior of E-glass and crystal clear epoxy resin reinforced matri x. The E-glass fiber and crystal clear epoxy resin(LY556) materials with fi ber orientation (0° and 30°) were fabricated by using hand l ayup method. The volume fraction of the E-glass fi ber and crystal clear epoxy resin is 50%. The laminated composite material consists  of 6 lamina. The fabricated lami nate s pecimens were cut according to the ASTM standards for di fferent tests. After testing the results of Tensile, Flexural, Compressive and Impact were observed and compared each other with (0° and 30°) orientations of fi ber. This study is to be concluded with the best orientations of fi ber- crystal clear epoxy resin reinforced matri x.
