RASPBERRY PI BASED SMART IRRIGATION SYSTEM AND SOIL FERTILITY DETECTION USING IMAGE PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY
Abstract
India’s population is reached beyond 1.5 billion and the population rate is increasing day by day then after 3000 years there will be serious problem of food, so the development of agriculture is very essential. Today, farmers are suffering from the lack of water and proper suggestions for their crops. The main objective of this paper is to provide an smart irrigation system thereby saving far mer’s time, money & power. In traditional way of irrigation techniques there will be more of manual intervention. With the smart technology of irrigation, the human intervention can be minimized and farming can be done much easier. The moisture sensors will be present in the field. Whenever there is a change in humidity content of soil these sensors sense the change gives an interrupt signal to the Raspberry pi 3 B+. Soil is recognized as one of the most valuable natural resource whose pH property is used to describe the degree of acidity or basic it which affects nutrient fertility and hence ultimately affects the plant growth. For capturing the images of the soil, the Pi camera is used and after processing the captured image the PH value of the soil is determined and thus accordingly crops or plants are suggested that can be grown in that field. Therefore by the value of PH obtained the fertility of the soil is noted. Due to observation of soil pH the chances of crops destruction can be decreased.
