STUDY ON STRENGTH PROPERTIES OF POLYESTER FIBRE REINFORCED CONCRETE
Abstract
Cracks in concrete are a well- known common problem in all type of concrete structures. In conventional concrete, micro cracks develop before structure is loaded because of drying shrinkage and other causes of volume change. The present trend in concrete technology is towards increasing the strength and durability of concrete to meet the demands of the modern construction. The current investigation is for M25grade of concrete to study the compressive strength, flexural strength and split tensile strength polyester fibre reinforced concrete containing fibers of 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and 2%. The test results for compressive, flexural and split tension test was studied at the age of 14, 28 and 56days. There is notable increase in the strength of the concrete made and also the crack ar rest.
