A REVIEW ON IMAGE ENHANCEMENT TECHNIQUES

Abstract

Image Enhancement is an important and complex technique in the medical image processing
technology. The aim of enhancement in medical image is to improve the visual appearance on an image and
to offer a better diagnose purpose. Denoising, contrast increment, blurring and enlightenment of details are
examples of enhancement operation. In this paper we discuss and highlight the algorithms and methods of
the state of the art image enhancement techniques. The demand for enhanced the medical images has been
increased in order to comfort experimenter to make accurate diagnosis. The tasks of enhancement in
medical images are generally to enlarge a region of interest.
