AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF PAVER BLOCKS WITH PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF CEMENT BY FLYASH AND CALCINATED CLAY
Abstract
An experimental study for manufacturing paver blocks with partial replacement of cement by fly ash and calcinated clay is studied. Paver blocks replaced with fly ash and calcinated clay by various percentages and its properties have also been studied. Paver blocks are ideal materials on the footpaths for easy laying, better look and finish. It was found that rapid deterioration occurred on new pavers and the blocks became unserviceable within three years. Moreover, in construction, the use of fly ash would result in the reduction of greenhouse gas emission. High strength of paver block can be prepared and the incorporation substitute to improve the properties of the properties of paver block. Test result of specimens indicates the bonding strength of properties, workability, and the difference reaction when the water ratio a change its content. The present technical report focus on investigation of partial replacement of cement with fly ash and calcinated clay. The usage of fly ash and calcinated clay serves as replacement to already depleting conventional materials and the recent years and also as being a byproduct it serves as an eco-friendly way of utilizing the product without dumping it on ground. The Partial replacement of cement is performed by flyash and calcinated clay in given percentage of (0 to 25) % with increment of 5% and make the paver block cheaper.
