GREEN SYNTHESIS OF TIO2 NANOPARTICLE PREPARED FROM TRIDAX PROCUMBENS LEAF EXTRACT FOR DYE ADSORPTION AND THEIR ISOTHERM AND KINETIC STUDIES

Abstract

In the present research green synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticle prepared from Tridax Procumbens leaf extract using sol-gel method. The FT-IR spectra established the occurrence of –COOH and –OH functional groups. The SEM images suggested porous and heterogeneous surface. The structures of the nanomaterials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), The MO dye removal was examined by different pH, contact time, NPs dose, initial dye concentration and temperature. Maximum dye removal percentage was achieved at pH 7.0. The kinetic analysis suggests adsorption dynamics is best described by pseudo second-order kinetic model. Langmuir adsorption isotherm studies revealed endothermic monolayer adsorption of Methyl orange dye. The negative value of ?Go and positive ?Ho values indicated spontaneous and endothermic adsorption process.
