REAL TIME IMPLEMENTATION OF AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION SYSTEM WITH SOLAR ENERGY OPERATED MOTOR USING GSM

Abstract

Indian economy is mainly based on agriculture. Water is the main resources for agriculture. This paper proposes the “Real time automatic irrigation system with solar energy operated motor using GSM. It consists of sensors like soil moisture, temperature and humidity sensor. The soil moisture sensor is used to measure the moisture content of the soil. Humidity and temperature sensor is used to measure the moisture content in the surroundings. The Solar Panel is used to operate the three phase motor. GSM module is available in the motor control unit. Information from the field controller unit such as soil moisture, humidity and temperature is send to the motor controller unit. With the help of sensor values the motor will automatically switched ON/OFF to irrigate the field. From motor controller unit the information is send to the register mobile number through GSM module.
