ROLE OF NANOPARTICLES AS ADSORBENTS FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT

Abstract

The Textile Industries Are One Of The Most Potential Pollutants To The Environment And Human Health. These Industries Discharge Large Volume Of Waste Water Which Is Characterized By High BOD, COD, Turbidity, Suspended Solids, Dissolved Solids, Sulphide, Chloride, Chromium, Animal Hairs, Epidermis Fats And Other Bio-Contaminants. Usually These Untreated Effluents Are Treated By The Current Commercial Synthetic Coagulant Such As Ferrous Sulphate, Aluminum Sulphate (Alum), Poly Aluminum Chloride Which Is Harmful For Livelihood. Natural Coagulants Are Organic Based Coagulant That Can Be Used In Coagulation Stage Of Waste Water Treatment To Reduce Turbidity, Color And Organic Matters. Natural Coagulants Are Harmless And More Economical. This Study Was To Access The Possibility Of Using Natural Coagulants As An Alternative To The Current Commercial Synthetic Coagulants. Nano materials Are Used for Remove the Heavy Metal Ions, Dyes and Physical-Chemical Characteristics in Textile Waste Water. Natural Coagulant Are Converted Into Nanoparticles To Remove The Contaminates In Waste Water And Also It Give The Most Removal Efficiency In Wastewater.
