STUDY ON STRENGTH PARAMETERS OF LIME CONCRETE WITH SILICA FUME AND FLY ASH

Abstract

The concrete which is made of lime is known as lime concrete. Lime replaces the cement in concrete. This paper deals with the study of addition of pozzolonas in lime concrete and compare the strength results. Pozzolonas includes silica fume and fly ash. This reduces the usage of cement in concrete. Also leads to reduction of carbon-dioxide emission to the atmosphere. M20 grade of concrete is taken for the study. The mix consists of equal amount of lime and pozzolonas along with 20% of cement. The compressive strength results are identified for the concrete at the age of 7, 14, 28 days. The split tensile test is identified at the age of 28 days. The identified compressive and split tensile strength results are compared with conventional cement concrete.
