DESIGNOF MICROSTRIP ANTENNA FOR BIOMEDICALAPPLICATIONS
Abstract
Nowadays, implanted biomedical devices(IMD) has been playing an important role in medical applications such as pace makers, remote health care applications, glucose monitoring systems, insulin push out, colonoscopies. Amongst, the different components of the implanted device, the antenna plays a virtual role in transfer the data wireless. Hence designing an implantable antenna with a small size, bio-compatibility, bandwidth is required. Our project proposes a design of a dual-band micro strip antenna in the ISM (Industrial Scientific, and Medical Band 2400-2483.5MHz). These patches are capable to blend with microwave circuits & very well suited for many applications. The MSPA is very simple in construction using conventional micro strip fabrication techniques. In the design, MSPA is preferred due to its low profile, lightweight, super portability easy integration. The designed antenna is simulated using CST& tested with tissue-equivalent liquid model and pork meat and the parameter such as return loss, SAR, VSWR, Radiation pattern, gain and directivity are measured and found to be useful for biomedical applications.
