SECURE BANK TRANSACTIONS USING RSA
Abstract
In any online banking system, and banking services authentication plays a vital role in transaction. Banking authentication mainly depends on username/password combos to verify users. It becomes an inefficient task for users to memorize usernames and passwords for a lot of accounts. Furthermore, legacy authentication methods does not immune against a wide variety of attacks that are launched against users, networks, or authentication servers. The data generated during transaction are stored in a mutable centralized database. Blockchain solved this issue by providing a decentralized peer-to-peer network that allows its users to carry out transactions and interactions without having to place trust in each other or a centralized authority, the users of the network only need to place trust in the globally accepted mechanism of the system. It stores the users data in a distributed immutable ledger. In this work, it uses an efficient and practical user authentication scheme for personal devices that utilize different RSA cryptographic primitives, such as encryption, digital signature, and hashing. The proposed scheme does not require an authentication server to maintain static username and password tables for identifying and verifying the legitimacy of the login users. For each login session one-time username, one-time password ,session key, and verification code are updated consequently, It not only is secure against password-related attacks, but also can resist several attacks and data breach incidents.
