FOREIGN OBJECT DETECTION IN WIRELESS POWER TRANSFER USING INTELLIGENT LEARNING TECHNIQUES

Abstract

Abstract —Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) is widely used in mobile devices and marks the beginning of the use of electric vehicle (EV) charging. One of the most common methods used in WPT applications is to use a magnetic coupling between a transmitting coil and a receiving coil with suitable magnetic resonance. However, these systems are resistant to foreign objects that can cause many dangerous thermal effects, even life-threatening disasters. Therefore, a clever method is needed to protect these WPT coils from foreign objects. Recently, artificial intelligence algorithms have gained a brighter light in the study of the implementation of the intelligent security system of WPTs. However, conventional machine learning algorithms take more time to detect because foreign objects spread strong electromagnetic fields around the WPT coils, creating more safety concerns. To solve this problem, we consider developing an intelligent system. A Learning Technique that is not affected by electromagnetic fields.
